  10. It is true that neither Des Bulpin nor any other individual will be able to transform the fortunes of the Philippine national squad in a single year.
That said, every journey starts with a single step.
For now the target should be simply to improve the results so that the team can enter into the top 150.
Yes you do need money, there is no doubt of that.
It's a bit of a chicken and egg situation. You lack sponsors because you have little success but it is hard to find success without sponsorsto pay for trasining facilities, kit and extra coaches.
Well the first thing to do is to make sure you are getting the best out of the resources you have available at the moment - and the resources you have are your players.
Hopefully Des Bulpin will be able to :
    1. help the team with their training schedules (both for when they are together and when they are back in their real lives).
    2. Emphasise the importasnce of good diet (not just during the week prior to matches)
    3. Emphasise the fact that players have to develop their own technical ability in between national meetings.
    4. Emphasise that you need a team of skilfull individuals but that they will only suceed at international level through good teamwork.
    5. Teach them the importance of mental preparation and how they need to study the game. It isn't enough to just turn up and see what happens.
    6. Once the best players have been identified, make them believe that they can succeed if they are dedicated enough.
Coming back to money though. They need to play matches and enter tournaments in order to pick up rasnking points - and playing games costs money !!
You can't make a silk purse out of a sows ear so something does need to happen behind the scenes to make more funding available.

  11. Guys,

Im writing after reading the comments that is being written.
People in the philipines want big names?
    Mourinho, Benitex, Ferguson, Wenger?

But the best coaches not managers, are the assistants of these coaches.

For Mourinho - Rui Faria , Baltemar Brito
    Ferguson- Brian Kidd,Queiroz, Phelan, Mclaren

Did you notice during the seasons ferguson didnt win the titles, he didnt have an assistant coach or a first-team coach?
Anyway, that is a different discussion for another day.

Here, do not discredit coaches on account of what positions they have held and stuff.

Its about having a coach who can identify the problems, adapt to the football culture and give the best short and then long term solutions.

Stop being cunical and negative. Use your efforts being negative to change football. At least more ppl start to try.

    Just my two cents worth.
