Cebu Football - Subangdako FC aims big for 2010

SUBANGDAKU FC (SFC) was formed only last year but has already set a few accomplishments in the short span of time.

“The club just started and it will become one of the top teams in the years to come,” said Cebu Football Association president Richard Montayre, who was the guest speaker in last Sunday’s general assembly at Casino Español.

SFC, which was formally established last May 15, has already bagged five awards in three different tournaments since then.

SFC finished second runner-up in the Women’s Open category in last year’s Aboitiz Football Cup, first runner-up in the Girls 12 class of this year’s Thirsty Football Cup and first runner-up in the Girls 12, Girls 17 and Women’s open of the Cebu International School Friendship Cup 2010.

SFC is on the right track as it is being guided by two of the top coaches in Cebu City, Eleazar Toledo and Oliver Colina, who are both licensed by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).

Aside from having two of the most talented coaches in Cebu City, SFC is one of only four clubs that is SEC registered, which is required by the AFC.
After a stellar start, SFC is setting on bigger goals this year.

It wants to hold a summer clinic and coaching development. It also wants to become the best-equipped club, establish emergency fund for members, tap the Aboitiz field
as its home pitch and field a team in this year’s Alaska tournament.
