    1. Kind of stupid, it should have been Phil that took that penalty! He's the first choice penalty taker and has yet to miss a penalty for the national team. Plus he was on a hat trick!

    1. So beating Al Ahli in a testimonial match is very good? Good for Weiss that he finally got a decent result. He still hasnt shown us a good result, and a win against a CLUB doesnt help anything. You talk like the azkals have won the friggin World Cup.

      Delete
    2. ^^So we can't get any sort of excitement from this result? Is that it?!?

So to you, what is a "good result"?!? You make it seem like we're supposed to be able to defeat with some level of ease the big boys of Asian football. And when we do win even if was "only" Al Ahli, its not a big deal and we were "supposed" to defeat them.

Seriously, some of you people are just whacked in the head and nothing can ever satisfy you.

    3. ^^^
Beating a club from a country that's lightyears ahead in football is a big deal, and helps a lot to prepare the team for upcoming "real" matches.

And the Azkals might be far from the World Cup, but today's win is a step in the right direction. You Weiss-haters do nothing but inhibit progress.

    4. I dont hate Weiss, but you guys talk like he is the big saviour. Here we have a coach who doesnt know what he is doing and doesnt have faith in his players. The WC games against Kuwait showed that, and he is full of promises and optimistic beyond the moon when he has no reason for it. Oh, did someone mention that he doesnt watch local games like UFL and collegiate games? WTF is that about. He is a coach, but it might seem that Palami is pulling the strings when it comes to player selection. I mean, Marwin Angeles? Oh, he came from Palamis 2nd club, Laos FC. There are alot of good players in the UFL 1st division, and they pick out a guy from the 2nd div?

This result certainly is better than a whipping by some japanese high school kids, or Thai 2nd div club, but lets face it. This was a testimonal match, and they might not have fielded their best player, and they might have fielded a reserve team so that players who havent got much playing so far this season could get some playing time. But hey, im sure if the Azkals FC would beat a high school team you would jump and celebrate like you won the lottery.

    5. Nobody says that he's a big saviour. Not me, at least.(I'm not "tolerant anton")

And why do you have a problem with us being excited about today's win? Say what you want about the circumstances of the match, but can we not at least support our team when they win?

    7. Im happy for the team winning, but at the same time im realistic. It is not CLUBS we should beat, but national teams. Even if we won today, we still have a long way to go, and like i said earlier, i dont hate Weiss, but its clear that he has some issues he needs to sort out. He thinks he can send a tsunami throughout the football world, but look at the SEA games when he and others said they aimed for a medal, which wasnt realistic at all.

    9. @ Anonymous 11:20 AM,

Fully agree! Louie Encabo is poser along with a whole bunch of other members on that forum! He's just some wannabe kid that thinks its his responsibility to raise Philippine football and that all that crap! Just as you say, he knows jack sh*t and his little forum of his is big joke as well!!

      @ Anonymous 11:21 AM,

No sh*t its national teams we have to beat!! However, too many and I mean way too many confuse that with "we should be beating even the top teams because of..... (insert some random BS reason here).

    12. I'm afraid you weiss haters miss the point entirely. While I don't like Weiss, I don't hate dislike him either (I prefer McMenemy, really). My issue with you is that when the team loses, you guys are the first to bash the coach about it, regardless of the situation and/or the opponents. When the team plays well, you dismiss it as 'just a club, just a testimonial match, just a friendly, just a whatever excuse to bash.'

What should I call this one? EDSA mentality? That everything wrong can be easily fixed by replacing whoever's up there?

      Delete
    13. I'm not a Weiss hater as well but what makes you "prefer" McMenemy? Because he was the who in charge of the national team when they overachieved in the Suzuki Cup? No disrespect to McMenemy whatsoever, but just because he was the one in charge during the Suzuki Cup run, it doesn't mean they played well or anything like that.

      Delete
    14. 1. Because I feel that he deserved a contract extension after Suzuki 2010.
      2. I enjoy watching defensive and counter-attacking football. Henrique Calisto would definitely hate me.

      Delete
    15. ^^#1 doesn't really count as a reason to prefer someone over the other. lol!

#2 lol again!! McMenemy never set out for defensive tactics. He gave a lot of freedom to his players (specifically the more experienced players that play in the spine of the team) to express themselves. It just happens that they expressed a defensive style. Even then, its not like the defensive tactics they showed under McMenemey was solid... same goes for their counter attacks! (Just for the record, this isn't a dig at McMenemy but at you... you having a preference for something that has no basis!)

So that's a double face palm for you, or egg whatever you prefer! lol!!

I brought this up in when they played Uzbekistan. It's f***ing retarded!!!

    2. It's just a practice jersey worn to appease sponsors.

And "Azkals" is just for marketing, and to avoid FIFA bureaucracy.

      Delete
    3. "Appease sponsors"?!?!?!?!

So in an official match for example, when they wear their proper national team kit, WITHOUT anything azkals related, they're not appeasing sponsors?!?!?!

      "Avoid FIFA bureaucracy"?!?!?!?

      LOL!!!!!!! WTF!?!?!?!

      Delete
    4. ^^^ Kasi nga, that match might not have been FIFA-sanctioned. Calling it an official Philippines match might have gotten the Philippines suspended.

And there are official FIFA rules regarding advertising in national jerseys. That's why "real" national team jerseys don't have ads.

      Delete
    5. WTF!

Ive seen national teams playing unofficial matches over the years, and they always wear the national jerseys! Adding the Azkal logo is just the BS. Its just supposed to be a nickname, but they tend to over do it. Sometimes i feel its not about Philippines anymore, just some dogs.

      Delete
    6. It's obviously all just for funding.
I'm fine with that as long as they're able to do their duties as the national team.

    7. Here's the real answer, kids. Philippines contract with Muzuno has expired. Currently the Philippines doesn't have an outfitter, but they are negotiating with Nike and Adidas.

      Delete
    8. ^^It doesn't matter. It still doesn't explain the need to put all sorts of BS azk*l logos, etc on the kit as if the team was a football club and not the national team! It didn't even have the PFF logo on ffs!!

    1. BS! Just because its an unofficial match it doesn't you're not allowed to wear your national team kit.

I bet that all this BS is Palami's doing! Not only with the kit but even Weiss' black polo and those two button shirts that the players wear... it all has some azkal BS on it.

  13. I think Palami lost his money from MRT, and his new cash cow is Azkals.

    1. I wouldn't be surprised with that. Ang daming kalokohan na ginagawa sa national team na azkals ng azkals and then he tries to make money off of it. If he he's so addicted to all this azkals bs then he should just make it the nickname of his club, Global FC and not the national team!

      Delete
    2. what ever you say about than Dan Palami whether is milking the azkals for his own good.. He made what the azkals are now.. dapat magalit ka sa PFF coz during that time they didn't even care about acquiring our top euro-based players and did not care about our NT.. it was palami who paid MACCA salary and talked to the teams of some of our euro based azkals to play for the country...

      Delete
    3. He made the national team what it is today?!? Oh please... don't get me started. You're brainwashed that's all I'll say!

      Delete
    4. Oh please go get started. You free to speak. But first, let me ask you if you think the state of the NT was better before than it is now? Just want your honest objective opinion. No bs this bs that. Do you think the NT's condition was better before than it is now? Just stop and think for a moment, objectively, as rationale people do. Then you may, as you wish, " get started" .

      Delete
    5. LOL!!! Quit trying to be smart ass, it clearly doesn't suit you as you don't make sense!! At the same, whether the national team was better or not before Palami "took over" is irrelevant because that's not what's being discussed!

    6. Oh why did I even bother. Lol. I understand you completely. I just hope you understand yourself quite well. Ciao.

      Delete
    7. lol. True, why did you bother?! Because clearly you're trying act smarter you really are! You're not even familiar with the expression, "don't get me started", yet you try sound all clever with, "oh please go get started" and you try make it seem like I'm the nut job?! lol!!

      Ya.... goodbye!!!

  14. At least a good performance of the UFL league based NT players (except Wolf, De Jong, Jonsson). Even it was just a club side you first have to win....and i think most of the Al Ahli players have a better level than most of the UFL players. So why not recognize the positve result and match? Ok, it's not always that lucky when they use Azkals too often for the NT. But who cares? In Africa most national teams are called with their nick names like Elephants (Ivory Coast), Untamed Lions (Cameroon) etc.....even their association have that animals on their logo.
And...you can think of Mr. Palami what ever you want....either it's good or bad but at least since he took over the responsibility something has moved. He invested a lot of money and if some funds come back due to the marketing of the Azkals ...no problem. It gets invested again and it helps to develope the sport....that's just my humble opinion, if you have other views thats ok and no problem with it.

    1. "they use Azkals too often for the NT. But who cares? In Africa most national teams are called with their nick names like Elephants (Ivory Coast), Untamed Lions (Cameroon) etc"

LOL!! First of all get your facts straight, Cameroon are the Indomitable Lions not untamed! lol!

Second, ya obviously they use nicknames but its not to the extent where Palami is doing it with the Philippines national team! They use some random unbranded kit which has some shitty fan art which says azkals and then there's a separate azkals logo, also some fan made crap which makes it look like they're a fucking club team!! So name me a national team where they deviate from their original kit and does what Palami's doing with the Philippines!

Third, "even their association have that animals on their logo". Ya, sure, some of them do but that's because its their association crest!!! The shitty azkals crap isn't the PFF crest now is it?!?! And at least these national teams that you name have a decent nickname and not some retarded crap like street dogs!

Fourth, I don't care if Palami has invested a lot of money into the team. He was never obliged to do so! He did it out of good faith, because he wanted to. However, he's taken it too far to the point where it seems like he thinks he owns the team with all the BS with azkals uniforms and what have you.

      Delete
    2. Why do you make such big issue over the kit? You speak about "deviation" that not even FIFA bitch about, and so clearly not a violation. The NT has their official kit and is worn during official tourney. They don't wear a Kia sponsored kit during AFC, Suzuki Cup, Long Teng Cup have they? Boy understand that football is not a big cash in the Philippines, and Palami is doing business to sustain the cash flow for NT via sponsorships. Do you honestly ticket sales during games is enough to fund the ambitious goals of the NT? You seem to imply that we do what other NTs do and clearly we are not at par with the more established NTs around the world boy. The Azkals need the sponsors and not one sponsor is willing to support you without advertising them. Plain and simple. Think boy before you yap. And why bitch about the name? What would you have the NT named as? Sampaguittas? The name rose because it fits the story, or rather the name has a story. That's part of how you grow a culture. That name means more to the players than you would have them be called some fancy name that does not resonate with the players and supporters. Hey if you have such despise over this whole thing then why don't you start your own club and run it according to your philosophy. Get things done rather than bitch about like a little girl.

      Delete
  15. You hate Palani ha!... will you please tell me where is our NT today? if Palani is not there to help...... if Palani never invest money, effort, and time....! ?

    1. You don't seem to get the point. What I've been saying has nothing to do with the time and money that he's invested. I'm not gonna waste anymore trying to explaining anything anymore because nobody can seem to comprehend anything anyway.
