Pasilan brace leads resurgent Archers

FLORIANO `Tating' Pasilan Jr. flashed his old, fiery form on Saturday night, leading Green Archers United to a 2-1 victory over Pachanga-Diliman in the United Football League at the Emperador Stadium in Taguig.
Struggling this year after emerging as the Archers’ leading scorer last season, Pasilan registered a brace this time in helping his team continued its resurgence late in the tournament and raised its point total to 25.
It was the fourth win in five games for the sixth-running Archers, who had been stuck at eighth place and in danger of being relegated earlier in the year.
Pasilan opened his scoring four minutes before first-half stoppage time, before the San Carlos City pride doubled the Archers’ lead in the 72nd minute.
Pachanga saw a ray of hope when Ernest Appiah struck eight minutes later, but last year’s Division 2 champions failed to sustain the rally.
The fifth-running club, though, remains three points ahead of the Archers in the standings.
Both teams have one game remaining in their schedule.
