Title-contending Kaya FC back on track in UFL with 2-0 blanking of Philippine Army

By Karlo Sacamos

KAYA FC coach David Perkovic is so focused on the task at hand that he doesn't know which opponent will the team faces next.
"I have no idea," the Australian mentor said after his banged-up squad blanked Philippine Army, 2-0, on Thursday night in the United Football League at the Emperador Stadium.
The result atoned for a string of disappointing performances and put the third-running side firmly back in the title race after tallying its 24th point.
But Perkovic gave more importance to how his team fared without Andrew Liauw and Miguel Tanton, and with Chris Greatwich and a few others nursing injuries.
"My only concern is the performance, not where we're at in the standings," Perkovic said.
"And I was satisfied with the work ethic the players put in considering how many players played injured."
Rookie Azkal Kenshiro Daniels and super-sub Janrick Soriano provided the goals this time for Kaya, which kept the Troopers in sixth spot.
