Younghusbands to lead Azkals vs Perth Glory

MANILA, Philippines – The lineup of the Philippine Azkals that will compete in an international friendly against Perth Glory Tuesday at the Quirino Stadium in Bantay, Ilocos Sur has officially been announced.
 
James and Phil Younghusband, both coming off injuries in the recent months, are bannering the team to be coached by Aris Caslib, in lieu of Thomas Dooley, who is currently abroad because of personal reasons.
 
Other members of the team include Amani Aguinaldo, Fitch Arboleda, Florencio Badelic, Jerry Barbaso, Misagh Bahadoran, Valentino Calvo, Jaime Cheng, Julian Clarino, Dominic del Rosario, Shirmar Felongco, Jim Flores, Daniel Gadia, John Christopher Kanayama, Nicholas O’ Donnell, Simone Rota, Camelo Tacusalme, Miguel Tanton, Gerardo Valmayor and Dennis Villanueva.
 
Arboleda, Badelic, Cheng, Clarino, Del Rosario, Felongco, Gadia and Valmayor are also part of the Philippines U-23 team that competed in the 28th Southeast Asian Games in Singapore last year.
 
Perth Glory is in the Philippines as part of their preseason preparation for the A-League starting this August. They were held to a scoreless draw against Global FC, but got back with a 2-1 win over the UFL All-Stars.
 
The Azkals are also in the midst of preparing for the Suzuki Cup to be co-hosted by Myanmar and Philippines this November. The Nationals last competed in March against North Korea in the FIFA World Cup Qualifiers.
