UFL: Voltes eyes another win vs Kaya

JP VOLTES seeks to sustain its sterling run in the United Football League season when it collides with Kaya today at the start of the second round of the league competition at Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Kickoff is at 4 p.m. with Voltes, which has 25 points for third spot behind Global FC and Ceres-La Salle, looking to repeat its 3-1 conquest of Kaya in the first round.
Loyola Meralco tries to rev up its title chase as the Sparks clash with a dangerous Forza side at 2 p.m.

The Sparks, who are in fourth spot with 24 points, have little room for error in the second round with Global and Ceres looking to pull away from the pack.
One thing going for the Sparks is the return to form of star striker Phil Younghusband who fired 15 goals in just six games in the first round.
The chasing pack has a difficult task of catching up with the top teams as bottom squads Nomads, Pasargad and Agila have all pulled out of the competition after they were unable to beef up their lineups in the absence of a third transfer window this season.

Following the rule of the International Football Federation (Fifa), the Philippine Football Federation has strictly imposed only two transfer windows for the UFL this season, which happened at the start of the UFL Cup in January and in the UFL league last March.
The pullouts mean three less matches for the teams, making it an easier schedule to negotiate for the likes of leader Global (31 points) and Ceres (28 points).
The champion of the UFL this season will clinch a berth in the AFC Cup. Cedelf P. Tupas
